HP7 SPOILERS: Epilogue by Elocinaqui HP7 SPOILERS: Epilogue by Elocinaqui
WARNING
SPOILERS GALORE!!!!
If you HAVEN't read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet, I suggest you go read another comic strip because this seriously spoils the WHOLE story.

If you're going to fav, please comment as well, it means a lot to the artist :) Also, if you want to see a close up of Albus go here--> [link]

Even though the Epilogue was kinda ishy, fanfic-like and didn't really have closure, I really enjoyed the second to last page. Young Albus Severus Potter, worried, asks his father what would happen if he were put into Slytherin. Harry, kindly reassures him that it doesn't matter where he is placed and that one of the greatest men he ever knew was Slytherin. But just in case someone really doesn't want to go into a certain house, the Sorting Hat takes that persons’ choice into consideration. Harry explains to his son that is what happened to him when he was sorted. This lightens up Albus’s mood and he boards the Hogwarts Express.
This is really the ONLY part I liked about the Epilogue. Harry is an awesome daddy, isn't he? I mean, yeah awkward naming your own kid after the teacher you hated most, but still that is probably as close to justice as Snape is going to get for all he did. I suppose I should cut Rowling a break--she did create a wonderful series :D
Is it just me or does anyone else hope that Albus is in Slytherin?

I really like that part because it showed how Harry had shed his prejudice against a house, he went from "eww, I don't want to be in Slytherin, they're evil!" to actually seeing it as a respectful house. I also thought the line about Snape was sweet too, I think he not only learned the truth about him but I think as he got older, he learned to respect and admire the strict discipline he provided. In fact, I think that discipline (although sometimes a bit unfair) was necessary to provide him to fight Voldemort.

I imagine Albus in Slytherin, I think it would be interesting for him to be in a different house than the rest of family, plus it would make sense considering who he's named after. I also think it would be cool if he could speak Parasol-tongue, which he got from Harry (who got it from Voldemort.) I'm actually really surprised that Harry turned out a good father considering that he was abused and neglected as a child.

Actually the whole Epilogue seems too perfect and unbelievable; Harry and his friends have gone through all kinds of trauma but it doesn't seem to effect them at all. That's what I like about the end of The Hunger Games series is that although Katniss and Peeta survived and start a new life together, they both basically suffer from PTSD because of what they've been through and have to help each other through it, it just seemed much more believable and real to me.

I imagine a further conversation would have been

um...Dad?

not that that didn't help a little but. . . - Albus

What is it? - Harry

You named me 'Albus Severus'. - Albus

And? What's the matter with that? - Harry

Nothing! Except. . . - Albus

Except. . . - Harry

My initials. - Albus

Yeah, A, S, P. What about it? - Harry

It spells asp. - Albus

Okay. . . - Harry

That's a kind of snake. The one that killed Cleopatra. Aunt Hermione told me. - Albus

o.O. . .oops. - Harry

Well, you could always go by Severus Albus - Harry

That spells 'sap' Dad. - Albus

This really was one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. "He was probably the bravest man I ever knew." <3 Oh my goodness, yes. You did very well portraying it, too!
